Fall and winter styles are all over the runways, and I wanted to highlight a few that are going to be making their way quickly and easily into consumer fashion. These are five winter 2017 fashion trends you won’t want to miss out on!
Something about the eye-catching sheen of metallic fabrics makes them ideal for the frosty winter months, especially sterling silver. Cool, chic, and feminine, look for these fabrics in tailored jackets, blouses, and even dresses. Of course, silver and white gold jewelry and silver shoes are always a must for the winter season, and are dominating the catwalks this time of year.
Denim on Denim
The more denim the better on today’s runways for fall and winter fashion – think Brooke Shields for the 1980 Calvin Klein commercial. Today’s head to toe denim looks are ultra fit and tailored, giving the most elegant look that the fabric allows while still being casual enough for every day wear.
No, I’m not talking about the kind of sweaters your grandmother used to knit you for the holidays. Today’s knits are chunky and play with new elements and fits – everything from fringe to high-low hemlines to button-ups. Oversized knits always exude that extra coziness factor, but you can even find these pieces in fitted jackets and shawls.
This fierce pattern prowled down the runways once again in the collections of both Michael Kors and Dolce & Gabbanna, among others. Everyone’s favorite neutral is here to stay for the winter season. (Yes, leopard is a neutral.) I can’t think of a better print to take you from daytime to nighttime with ease.
Yes, the signature lumberjack print is back. We haven’t seen a rise in plaid this much since the early 90’s, but we are welcoming it with open arms. Wear it alone as a flannel, use it to line the inside of your denim jacket, or accessorize with a thick plaid belt. Your look can be on point while you simultaneously exude an aire of not caring at all. Win-win!
